Welcome to Helwig's Sweets!
Hello! My name is Erika Helwig and I am the owner of Helwig’s Sweets LLC. I am an elementary school teacher turned home baker. Helwig’s Sweets was established in 2013 soon after my son was born. Unable to find a permanent teaching job, I turned to my next passion…baking! I realized I had a knack for creating recipes and developed my own style of cake decorating. I started out in my home kitchen, and in early 2017 I moved Helwig’s into a commercial kitchen to grow into an online company. A store front plan is in the works!
From the very start, I wanted Helwig’s to provide excellent quality desserts. What does that mean exactly? It means using high quality ingredients, making everything fresh, and keeping those nasty preservatives and chemicals out of it all. I use King Arthur’s unbleached flour, organic cage-free eggs, organic whole milk, Nielsen Massey Madagascar bourbon pure vanilla extract, fresh fruits, and Ghirardelli chocolate. Everything is made from scratch!
From my Gourmet Cookies to my Custom Cakes, I take extreme pride in my products and my customers' smiles make what I do, the only thing to do. Helwig’s Sweets makes significant occasions more extraordinary.
